This event, brought to you jointly by the WA branches of PSA and SHPA, will discuss how health professionals can provide the most appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, whilst also appreciating and meeting their individual and specific health needs with a greater understanding of First Nations culture. The focus of the event will be on cultural mindfulness to help pharmacists better understand the cultural and access barriers that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face in accessing medications and pharmacy services. Communicating effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients can ease the transition between healthcare settings, particularly with helping patients access and manage their medications, and improve adherence and health outcomes.
This event is also offered by webinar at the same time.
