Monthly Learning with Peers represents an opportunity for pharmacists to: come together and network; view a selected online CPD podcast together; and complete MCQs and have discussions around the clinical topic and learn from each other in a peer supported session facilitated by your area coordinator.
The role of pharmacists in addiction care may be much broader than opioids in the future. There is great potential for pharmacists to be more involved in screening and referral for risky alcohol use as risky drinking among older Australians escalates. The expansion of therapeutic cannabis use will require that frontline health professionals are able to identify emerging dependence. In the future the pharmacists will be more important than ever in preventing harms related to substance use in the community.
