Hepatitis C Facilitated Workshop – Geelong

Hepatitis C, once believed to be a chronic, incurable illness, it now curable in almost all cases in as little as 12 weeks. Yet, despite thousands of Australians now cured of hepatitis, almost 170,000 people are still believed to be living with chronic hepatitis C, many unknowingly. New treatments, with fewer side effects, easier dosing regimens and better efficacy than older treatments have made curing hepatitis C easier than ever.This workshop will update pharmacists on advancements in hepatitis C treatment with direct-acting antivirals (DAAs), and the role that pharmacists play in assisting patients with initiating and continuing therapy until disease resolution.
