Pharmacist prescribing: The UK experience and Australian opportunity (Webinar)

Outline
Prescribing by pharmacists is an established component of practice in the United Kingdom. In Australia, non-medical prescribing has been successfully extended to dentists, nurse practitioners, midwives, podiatrists and optometrists applying different prescribing models. Yet, as medicines experts, pharmacists don’t have prescribing rights in Australia. Join Ravi Sharmi, prescribing pharmacist from the UK in this interactive evening as he describes the UK model of prescribing and the learnings that can applied to Australia. According to PSA president Dr Shane Jackson, prescribing by pharmacist is imminent and this serves to be a timely platform for pharmacists to come together, learn and discuss what the future of pharmacist prescribing in Australia may look like.
